Set up an mVPN WireGuard profile on iPhone or iPad

Use the currently supported iPhone setup

mVPN offers its native app on Android. On iPhone and iPad, the supported public path is a manual WireGuard profile from the web dashboard, imported into the official WireGuard app. These are different apps and setup flows.

Check the account balance and available purchase options in the web dashboard. Website data packs apply to supported manual profiles, including iOS profiles. They do not constitute a purchase inside a separate native mVPN iOS app. This guide does not promise a particular signup promotion or permanent free allowance.

Install the official client and obtain your profile

1. Open the official WireGuard App Store listing linked below and check that the app is compatible with your device.
2. Sign in to your mVPN web account and follow the setup flow for iPhone or iPad.
3. Choose an available location, then obtain the configuration file or QR code offered by the dashboard.
4. Keep the profile private. It contains credentials for the VPN connection.

Download the client from WireGuard on the App Store. Use the official listing rather than an unfamiliar configuration app.

Import a file or scan a QR code

For a configuration file, save the downloaded .conf file to Files, then use WireGuard’s file-import option and choose that file. The exact menu wording can vary by client version. Give the imported tunnel a name you can recognize.

For a QR code, display it on another trusted screen and use WireGuard’s QR import option. A camera cannot scan a code displayed on the same phone screen, so a file import is usually simpler when only one device is available. Do not upload the QR code to a public scanner or share it in a support chat.

Use the supported file or QR import flow rather than copying credentials into an arbitrary Settings profile. A WireGuard configuration is not an iOS .mobileconfig profile. Approve the system VPN permission when the official client requests it.

Connect and test before travel

1. Confirm that your current Wi-Fi or mobile data connection works.
2. Enable the imported tunnel in WireGuard and wait for its connection state.
3. Open a familiar HTTPS page or the service you need. A VPN icon alone does not prove that every service is reachable.
4. Return to your mVPN account to check balance and usage. Counters may update after a delay.
5. Disconnect when you have finished if you no longer need the tunnel.

Test on a trusted network before a trip. Hotel Wi-Fi can require a browser sign-in before the tunnel works. After a Wi-Fi-to-cellular switch, check the connection again. A VPN does not remove your carrier’s mobile-data or roaming charges.

If the profile fails or the connection has no internet

First compare your network without the VPN, then try reconnecting using the profile for your chosen location. If the account reports unavailable data or a suspended connection, follow its balance and recovery instructions. A new server does not create a separate data allowance.

A saved configuration can be downloaded again through the account flow. If it was revoked or replaced, use the current configuration. Avoid repeatedly deleting working profiles or manually changing DNS, MTU and routing settings as a first troubleshooting step.

When using multiple devices, keep separate saved device configurations where supported and use the shared account balance. Copying one private key does not create another allowance and may lead WireGuard peers to switch network endpoints. Do not assume stable simultaneous use of a copied profile.

Keep the file, QR code and account private

Configuration files and QR codes carry private connection credentials. Do not post them publicly or include them unredacted in a support screenshot. If a profile is exposed, revoke or replace it through the supported account flow and import the replacement.

For support, provide the device model, iOS version, selected location, network type, time with timezone and visible error. Never provide a password, private key or full configuration. Keep iOS and WireGuard current, and continue to use HTTPS and normal account security.
